Hi guys, Just bought the Asus M3N-HT motherboard a few days back to replace my good old (but horribly faulty) M2N32-SLI motherboard (also bought an Antec 1200 to go with it ), and it's going great so far. Only problem I've got is overclocking the CPU using the AI Overclock in the BIOS (I rather use this than manual overclocking, as I'm not too sure how to manually overclock). The problem is that with my old M2N32-SLI mobo, I could set the AI Overclock to the 10x settings, and it would improve from 3.0ghz to about 3.24ghz (nothing big, but a nice little improvement). This new motherboard has the same AI Overclock settings, and when I set it to 10x the BIOS rightly shows the processor running at around 3240mhz.. although when I start Windows the processor is shown running at its standard 3000mhz in Windows's system information panel, and other cpu software. I don't want to try anything dramatic (BIOS change for instance) as this is a brand new motherboard. Is this a common problem, and/or easily resolved? I never used to have this problem with my old mobo and I'm using the same processor with the new mobo. No other hardware has been changed (appart from a new HDD) so I'm not entirely sure what it could be.. Any help would be great! Thanks! Audio84.
Aha, solved! Just found out that you cannot use AI Overclock with Cool'n'Quiet enabled on this motherboard, but you could on my old mobo. That was the problem. Disabling Cool'n'Quiet enabled me to overclock. Thanks anyway! Can close this thread now if need be
