So I've brought some homeplugs for a new PC

The devices I have are newlink 200 mbps powerline ethernet adapters model NL-HP200DL.

I'm lead to believe these are plug and play devices. Windows 7 can clearly see something is connected, but can't make a network connection. It's not asking for the homeplug password either.

When loading the PowerPacket utility I get a "Database file is not present" warning and the packet cannot detect the powerplug. It's plugged into the network socket and the light on the socket it lit and I can see that Windows 7 can something is connected.

However, there is no online support for this product, no troubleshooting section in the manual which makes me a little stuck.

    Any thoughts?

ok just a few further thoughts

definitely not an issue with windows
homeplugs themselves seem to be the issue

Anyone know how to find out if there is a Windows 7 driver I need to install or if there is a compatibility issue with a 64-bit OS?
