    Hello there

First of all I am not a PC guy by any means, I've always used laptops and ever owned one or two desktop computers which were ancient (a pentium 3 when it first came out and then a pentium 4 when it first came out).

I am on a limited budget because I recently repaired my Mac and it cost me a lot, and after asking and doing some research locally this is what I came up with:

Intel® Core™ i3-3220 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz Processor or Intel Core I5 3470 (depending on money at the time and if the upgrade would actually be worth it?)

    Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Socket 1155 Motherboard

    Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 1.5v

Western Digital (WD) Caviar BLUE WD5000AAKX 500GB SATA 6GB/s 16MB Cache HDD

    SAPPHIRE HD 7850 1GB OC GDDR5 Dual-X + Far Cry 3

Thermaltake Commander MS-I Mid Tower Desktop Case + 450W PSU

After doing some research and reading about this, I realized that perhaps the most important component when it comes to gaming is the graphics card as graphic-intensive games require a very good card in order to play on a high resolution and for the performance to be well, of course that's in addition to good RAM and processor. I'd ignore the RAM listed above because I will not settle for anything less than 8GB, and possibly Corsair ones as I hear they are absolutely the best.

Any ideas, guys? What do you think about this build? This will cost me about 600 USD if I go for the i3 processor or 700 USD (rounded up) if I go for the i5 processor. I am looking mainly to play Battlefield 3 and 4 when it comes out as well as the latest Call of Duty and other popular FPS games like Mass Effect by buying them in order to play them online. I also will connect it to a 25" full HD monitor so I am going to be looking at at least 1440x90 resolution in order for the pictures to look good.

Thank you so much for your time.

By the way, I have been thinking maybe I can hold on a little bit, save some more and buy better components that may last longer, specifically RAM and graphics card, so I narrowed down my options to these:

    Graphics Cards:

    http://egprices.com/product.php?id=17304

    RAM:

    http://www.egprices.com/product.php?id=19143
    http://www.egprices.com/product.php?id=14946

I hear that the last RAM (CORSAIR Vengeance with a Dual Channel memory kit) is the best among them. I also hear that the SAPPHIRE HD 7870 is the best, however it's a little pricey and if there isn't going to be any significant difference in Frames Per Second on high resolution or such, then I'd rather not spend the extra money.

    Thanks again

You are forgetting One Very Important Piece here, The PSU... It will have to be a Brand name with 80% rating.. Like Antic / Corsair / Thermaltake ....
At least 500 watts or up..

Well the case I am buying supposedly comes with a 450W PSU, but I hear it's junk and I'd be better off buying a case without one and then a good 500+W PSU.
