Due to new malware, which is targeting Windows 2000/XP users who run Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla.org has responded with a new update that deals with this issue. The "vulnerability" is not so much a remote exploit as an oversight. The user must still willingly click on an "Install me" style script, such as the ones malware like Bonzai Buddy generate so often. The fix basically limits the plugins you can download to whitelisted sites only. If you choose to install plugins from a non-whitelisted site, you'll have to add the site to your whitelist manually. Otherwise, the potentially malicious plugin installation requests are quietly ignored by Firefox.

    Get Firefox 0.9.2 here [Mozilla.org]
