Yes, Intel is not giving out its specifications to any competing CPU or chipmakers. So, AMD is planning on making their own "open" USB 3.0 controller, Nvidia and VIA are expected to take a lot of interest in this as well. On a side note, this sort of thing pretty much has always happened with the release of each USB upgrade, however, Intel is being much more serious this time around.
