Despirate situation - setting up a home network, but couln't get it to work. Flat-mate removed all network protocols, figuring Windows would re-install the ones it needed. Rebooted the machine to get an almost instant Blue Screen, but everything went black before there was a chance to do anything.
Now When the power is put on, the processor fan runs, but that's it. No output on the screen, no audible ram-check, so the bios isn't even being fired up. Just life-less.

Power is getting through some of the board (cpu fan) but not to the rest (the 2 CD trays refuse to open.) No life in the hdd either, but fine in another machine.

I think it's short somewhere, but could someone please shed some light on this???

What have you tried so far? Or is the problem fixed?
It could be that is short circuited from somewhere, or it’s a CPU failure...

    Nevermind!

Thanks for asking about it, but we found the problem. There must have been some kind of powersurge or something that blew something on the motherboard before the powerpack gave in. The motherboard and powerpack were totally useless and have already been replaced already.

    Cheers again though :)
