hi, i just reinstalled windows xp on my computer and now my audio devices arent woerking. i dont have the software disk for my motherboard as it is pretty old and have lost everything. i think the motherboard is a ms-m6524 g but ive tried downloading the drivers from the micro star site but still cannot fix the problem.

when the new hardware wizard comes up im not sure exactly where to search for the driver ive downloaded. i found one which was 'standard duel channel PCI IDE controller but it says that i cannot verify that it is compatible with my hardware. does anyone know where i can get the correct driver and how to use it?

    thanks

Have you tried un-checking everything and just letting it search itself?

well it doesnt seem to have that option. it comes up saying either install the software automatically which looks for it in the cd rom or manually where u have to find it yourself.

have you looked in the BIOS to see if onboard sound is enabled? i had that happen. that or try downloading the drivers to your desktop then installing from there
