But this one isnt very good Pentium 3 400Mhz with 32 mb of ram. But nt bad for nothing but anyway. I found my windows 2000 disc and installed it but then after using it for a while it came up this is an evaluation copy of windows and will shut down in 1 hr. I've downloaded linux and i'm assuming that it will be okay to put on this laptop??

EDIT: It also only has a 4gb hard drive :(

Oh yeah. Linux will run fine on that, and, unless you have to stay with a Windows OS, it'd be a better choice. Win2k is a nice OS, but it'll crawl on that system.

I wouldn't install mandrake on a laptop, a usual install with it is around 1.3GB for me

Vector Linux reportedly runs faster on a P1~133 w/32mb RAM than Windows XP does on a P3~800MHz w/128mb RAM. Might wanna give that a whirl. :good:
