A very simple question: how does one transfer files from OS X to Windows and vice versa? I've looked it up on the apple website... no luck... their explanations aren't very clear...
    Thanks.

You might need the networking program Samba to make a network connection with a Windows system.

Ive used a mac on my network once, i did a quick google search for the mac equivalent of the run command \\<compname or IP>\c$ and had file transfer goin fairly quickly, cant remember if I had to set up a bespoke free for all share for osx to talk to or if it prompted for name and password.

I never needed to get things working the other way round (windows to osx) so never did :D

sorry for my late reply... Everything's working great. All computers on my network can access each other. Next stop getting that Epson R1800 shared by the mac so that windows pcs can print... apparently not possible with the current 10.4.9.
    Thanks guys!
