Peripheral Problems..

    i know its not really hardware, but i like the response on the forums.

    i have windows XP Pro SP1 i have a DSP-500 Plantronics Headset (headphones + Microphone)

    my best mate has exactly the same except he uses XP Home.
    for some reason, whenever he tries to use his microphone across any type of LAN or Online Game the output is dreadful and you can bearly hear him. i've tried tones of different settings.

    his mic works fine across MSN Messenger / TeamSpeak / RogerWilco / Ventrilo but will not work ingame..

    hes also tried other microphones and still has the same problem.
    its obviously not the soundcard as it works perfectly in TeamSpeak RogerWilco and out of game Communications.

    any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Try different nForce drivers.

    different drivers should do the trick, if not should consider trying XP pro...
