    Hi,
As the title explains, I have a computer that i think needs a powersupply replaced. I wanted to make sure that it was the problem before i go out and buy one. I took the powersupply out of one of my other computers but it only has 20pins not 24 like the mother board has. Can i still use this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

According to an article I read, it is possible to plug the 20 pin into a 24 pin slot on the motherboard and it might work, however you stand a good chance of overloading and damaging the pins on the motherboard so I would not risk it.

I would agree with Wildcard here, don't risk shorting out the motherboard.
