I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I am having.

My printer will not work. It keeps jamming after printing about 5 lines.

Sometimes it prints about 2 lines of a different computer language across the top of the page.

The error message says ‘there was an error writing to the usb deskjpt-640c printer is not ready make sure is on line’

I don't think the probelm is with the printer, could there be something wrong with the computer.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Yes it is the HP Deskjet and it has been happening since I got the printer. I will download a new driver for it and see if that helps. Is ther anything else it could be?

try reading through the manual...other wise I think since this started to happen when you got it, the printer could be damaged, so needs replacing! or you could be doing something incorrectly, the reason I mentioned drivers cuz you said it prints out 5 lines then jams, so you could be doing something wrong...go through every thing slowly and see how it goes!

The problem was in an incorrect driver installed.

    Thanks for your help.
