Slow HDD on network

    Gd evening.

    Basically, we have a USB (external) HDD on a PC on our network, the data transfur is fine and fast in explorer, however exploring through the folders of the drive is extreamly annoying - it takes about 6 seconds for the folders /subfolders to show up. this is only happening on this usb drive across the network, the pc that its connected too is fine, hdds can be read easily

    Hi, i have this same kind of problem, slow over network, but fast when on the same pc, i think its because of the amount of files in a folder, and it makes accessing slow over a network.

    hi thanks for reply. regardless to teh amount of files or folders the waiting period is still extensife. i ran scandisk on the usb drive but it didnt find any errors
