    morning,

    real quick/real simple.

    whats the fastest Socket A processor available?

    updateing an old PC but don't wanna go to the trouble of new mobo and the like.

    I would beleive it would have to be the Athlon XP 3200+. Although there were 3400+ ones, you won't find them now!

    That's what I was going to say. Right on Pelvis. I'd personally stick with a 2800 and just overclock it. It's the best bang for the buck but if you're not into that than yeah a 3200 or 3400 will be cool too. Socket A's clock speeds were surprisingly fast concidering that only from the 3800 and on league, not counting the X2's are we seeing higher speeds. Though obviously it isn't worth as much anymore.

    Exactly, My AXP 2800+ overclocks like mad on this board when i want it to!
