Hi Guys Maybe you can help me.

I just bought a Dell Dimension which has a Raid 0 setup. I have my Old IDE Maxtor hard drive still and just want to connect this drive to the new PC so that I can transfer my old files over.

I tried to just connect the IDE cables which go to my DVD writer and also the DVD player to my old hardrive expecting the drive to be available when I explored with win explorer. Yep you guessed it I could not see my Hardrive.

Any ideas how I can do this? Current setup:
    p4 2.8 800mhz
    240GB RAID 0 setup (2* 120GB WD caviar)
    1DVD Writer
    1DVD player

If you have any ideas that would be great.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Mark....

it could have something to do with the Raid 0 setup but I'm not too sure. From reading you post you have tried the following? taken the DVD and CD-Rom drives out and connected the old hard drive and restarted the computer? correct?

First, make sure that you've got the jumpers for the drive setup correctly. 2nd, check Disk Management (Control Panel--->Administrative Tools--->Computer Management--->Disk Management). Sometimes you have to manually assign a drive letter or change it if XP gives it the same letter as another drive already on the system.
