trying to play xbox through pc monitor but no speakers!!!

    Hi

    made an error here as thought I'd play xbox 360 through PC monitor but after setting it up forgot there are no speakers on monitor!!!
    A shocker I know. Bought lead that goes from Xbox to pc monitor and works fine, but no sound.

    am I able to play xbox through pc then back through monitor???

    if so how???
    I have not got HDMI facility as got basic xbox.
