Hi everyone, I have an older HP DV6000 and I need a much larger hard drive. I was recommended the below drive

    Seagate ST1500LM003 - 1.5TB 5.4K 16MB 2.5" 15mm SATA FreePlay Hard Drive

I need something over 1TB, this drive is almost 2TB and the price is not bad for a new drive. My question is will my machine support this new drive without doing any further modification? Or will I have to update any software/bios, etc. As long as it's something I can so myself, I will proceed with the installation, I just want to make sure before I buy. Thank you!

It should fit, BUT You will have to install your Operating system on the hard drive.. What OS are you using? Do you have your OS setup disk ?
I would also MAX out your ram as well ..
