    The top left of the pages I view on my phone have

    <?xml version="1.0"
    encoding="UTF-8"?>

    Does anyone know what might be causing it?

    Looks like the header for an XHTML wap page, which is standard. It should be parsed by the browser, not show up. Not sure what causes this.

    Might be that your browser doesn't support xHTML, older phone browsers don't support it, just HTML.
