Its on the same platform as the recently released 300gb VelociRaptor, which is a 2.5 HDD in a 3.5 enclosure. Holy cow! 20,000 RPM is crazy. I was wondering if we'd see something past 15,000 RPM SCSI drives, but that's been answered.
yeah, but i wonder at what cost, i have to imagine that its going to use more energy than 7,200 rpm drives, and obviously more than SSDs. Also, i know Raptors are suppose to last longer than traditional HDDs, but 20,000 rpms is really fast, so it makes me wonder. I dunno, ether way, its still really cool, and thats all just speculation.
