Does her box use Win2k as well? Do you have Service Pack 2 or 3?
Win2k is pretty doggedly slow in booting, but it could also be a hardware combination as well. Some modems and extra drive controllers can take a bit to initialize and such and that can add to it being fairly slow.

Regardless, Win2k is slow, and there is only so much you can do about it.

should consider moving away from Win2k if it really matters to you!(speed), would say XP Pro!

yea she has win 2k pro sp 3 also
I guess my hardware is what its slowing down.

Win xp is alot faster but I cant play counterstrike with it as my ping goes from 70 to 300 while on win 2k I get around 30(many ppl have this problem with xp)
It could be solved allready though.

I might install it on d:\ and check how it runs

Reread your first post, RZA, and if you want much faster boot times, you'll have to look into SCSI, and that isn't exactly cheap.
