and I hate it. That aside I'm having trouble setting up an NEC mobilepro p300 pocket pc running mc pocketpc v.3 It seems to be all in working condition. I installed activesync software, blahblahblah, but when I turn it on and drop it in the cradle windows pulls one of it's "oh wow hardware!" message attacks and can't figure out what it is! It won't install the driver, when pointed at .inf file it gives error saying something like no data for this device. I have no idea what to do does linux support pocket pc's
may b your cd is currupted. May be your windows have some problem and need reinstalling. Did you tried installing that software from internet? Hope it works
[ot]*apparently* ms claimed that win95 is now bug free! just dont use MS Winblows ME it was so bad ms stopped it! [/ot]
Do not use it.... I bet Mandrive will support it. Assuming you are using USB connection, check USB version compatability. It can bring about all sorts of wonderfull occurances. Hope you get it sorted!
Hmm yeah I know this thing is usb 1.1, but if my motherboard was in 1.1+2.0 mode you think that it wouldn't cause any problems. I'll test setting 1.1 in bios thanks, didn't even think about that one EDIT-nope
Active sync doesn't like my PDA either, it recognises it but just doesn't connect, I can install software onto my PDA using it but that's about it. I hate it and I've never had any luck with syncing software - on my old Nokia phone it just decided not to work full stop. I gave up and left it. The whole syncing with PC thing isn't too much of a hassle for me, I don't use Outlook and if I want to transfer files I'll use my memory card reader. Have you seen any problems on any PDA/Pocket PC specific forums at all?
I couldn't get my Nokia phone to work in XP either! :x: The software is terrible, and the installation is not logically laid out! I had trouble getting my DKU-5 cable to work. I've given up too..
I got an infa-red usb thing to connect, works. although it's really slow and often disconnects when transfering files. I mean this is really slow, probably no more than 15kb/sec
