Hello I'm new to the forum
![]() I've recently just got a new sata HDD. Without thinking about how many sata slots my mobo had i ent away and got it when installing i noticed i only had 2 sata slots!! Currently i'm running one 160gb sata HDD one 250gb sata hdd. But i have a DVDRW drive which is very powerfull and i really dont want to go back and use my old IDE one ( the disk drive is sata ). Initially i thought ok no hassle I'll get a PCI SATA extension card, but.... when i looked inside i noticed my graphics card is blocking one of the PCI slots. The other PCI slot is already occupied by my wireless card. Is there any way I can get around this without losing any components or buying a new mobo? Btw dont buy ASROCK AM2NF6G-VSTA!! |

Well, i only see one solution - buying a new HDD case that has Firewire connection.
USB 1.1 – 15 Mbps FireWire (1394a) – 400 Mbps USB 2.0 – 480 Mbps FireWire 800 (1394b) – 800 Mpbs SATA 1.5 – 1.5 Gbps SATA 3.0 – 3.0 Gbps

have you thought of using the PCIe slot with a card like this or are you using the PCIe slot for grfx ?
Edit: or would either of this or this help ? BTW: look around the pages i posted, you may see another solution
