Default Trouble with Raid, I think!!

Hello

I have an Asus P5L 1394 motherboard and 2 x Maxtor STM380215AS 80GB hard drives, I have just had to clean install windows due to a Vundo virus so everything is clean and new, the problem I am having is that in "My Computer" it is only showing one of the hard drives, if I right click and go to properties, Hardware it is showing the two drives there, one is showing in Location 0 (0) and the other is showing Location 1 (1), I have never used Raid before as always had smaller drive for windows and a larger drive for storage and would like to keep things this way but can't seem to get rid of the Raid, if thats what it is!!?? I have removed the Raid Controller and before removing tried to access the configurator but it said there wasn't a Raid device available!!

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

The Badger

ok, i'll bite, ok RAID = Redundant Array of Inexpensive / Independent Disks, as you haven't specified whether your using RAID0 or RAID1, not that it matters in this case, the easiest way to rectify this is the physically disconnect 1 HDD, then install windoze then reconnect the HDD & tell windows it's there

is that what you want to do ?

Edit: this may have being caused by the BIOS being set to RAID, when it should be set to IDE
