Default Two monitors

I read in a guide to using two displays that you need your graphics card to have two output 'plugs/connections/things to connect your diplay to' (or whatever the correct term is).

Is this strictly accurate or is there a way to divide between my mobo VGA output and my card's DVI output?

Well as long as you can get two outputs from your PC you should be able to use two monitors, I've done this with two graphics cards in the past (when dual output wasn't standard), so it should work fine with motherboard output + graphics card output. The only way to be sure is to try it

can be, forgot to mention its all depends on if the motherboard allows it or not, I think ATI based motherboards do.

Well, are you trying to run a video card and integrated one? Depending on the motherboard, you may not be able to run both at once.

Before you do the following, make sure the second monitor is showing up in Device Manager.

However, if you're running both off the video card, you may need to extend the desktop.
Do this by right-clicking on the desktop, go to properties, and then the Settings Tab. Your primary display will be the current monitor you're using, and it should tell you if there's a second display connected. You may have to enable the secondary display if it's not enabled automatically.
