Default updating bios for RAM upgrade?

iam getting ready to put more memory in my hp 7865 do i have to update the bios and if so how to it and make sure it is the right one

As long as you have a free slot you will be able to install more RAM. You can check this open your case and take a look.

ok i have one open slot.will i have to update the bios,or will the new memory just work when i boot back up

it should just work straight away... if not then take the new memory back out and tell us what happened, we should be able to help.
