Default USB Headset freezing comp

Hey everyone, this is the 4th forum i have been to and i hope someone can help me here, so far nobody else has been able to even reply . So anyways my computer is a p4 2.8ghz with 1gb ram etc etc.. running windows xp . The problem i am having is, i use Ventrilo (the speaking program) for when i play world of warcraft (which is 90% of the day) and i wanted to make it so i could use ventrilo through my headset ie: speaking and listening to vent converstations. and have my WoW music or my winamp playlist etc, come through my main computer speakers. I got it setup to where i can do that but at random times my computer will freeze while i am doing it, it is only when i have the USb headset plugged in and am using it on vent while playing WoW.. i figured it might be conflicting with the main sound card which is a SoundMax Digital audio onboard sound card that came with my computer, and the headset is a Logitech USB headset, any thing you guys might know that could help i would appreciate it, i know a good bit about computers and have built a few of my own but have never had this happen, please help me out im lost thank you

To me it sounds like too many things going on at the same time. Also what is
the specks of your video card? You need to take a look at your systems resources when this is all going on, sounds like they are getting real low.
too many things on at once will cause this.

My Computer

Yeah, you've got really a lot of things going on there. what about when you plug in that headset while the PC is idle?

btw - I'm using a logitech USB headset as well (for skype mainly) and it works like a beauty.
