Default using OEM cd's

Hi there,

We have recently purchased a bunch of new computers, however we have lots of OEM CD's from the old gateways. When you put them in the drive you get an error saying that "This is not a gateway".

I would think "so what" We paid for office... We have the license - Is there some way we can use it?

Thanks

generally, buying OEM versions of software is cheaper than retail versions, because, whoever wrote the software does not provide support for OEM software, but, a "site" licence provide you with a licence to run the software on as many systems as you want at a location, usually it's cheaper to obtain a site licence than 5 OEM versions & site licence software is totally unblocked (it will run on anything as long as the system meets or exceeds to minimum requirements)

you should look into volume / site licences here

Right - that is what we ended up doing with outlook once we learned the error of our ways - problem is that we have all these copies of office 2003 and we are replacing the Gateway machines that they used to run on - now we can't install them anywhere else...
