Default Vista for gaming

Hi Guys
Whats the best operating system for gaming?
I have xp and also have an option of Vista home. Would this be better with a higher version of vista?
going to run a phenon or core 2 quad 6600

any help appreciated

A lot of people in this forum will stay stick with XP because practically everyone hates Vista except me (I'm the rebel). If you dont have alot of memory on your rig then stay with XP but if like me you have 8GB of memory then go for Vista but 64bit NOT 32bit

Vista is only useful if you want to run DX10 games. Otherwise, it's best to stay with XP. The OS uses less resources, so the games can use more system resources and are therefore faster.

The 64-bit version of vista is required if you have 4 GB or more RAM installed.
