Default Vista Restore Point question

Hi folks, with ref to the post for my cd/dvd it is complelty buggerd.

The main reason I wanted to do this was to reinstall vista again as my laptop was completly clogged.

I was then told by a freind to "restore" it thus this will make it like new.

Can anyone help how i do this please

My Computer

you can only restore an XP installation if there are any restore points to restore to, i think XP creates a restore point automatically about once a week by default, but system restore is very easy to disable, heres how to do it, but, be aware, that doing a system restore also removes data created after the restore point you use, so, backup your important data first
