i have
gigabyte intel 945 pl-s3 rev2 3.0 ghz intel pentium4 with 2mb l2 cache 4 gb ram 160 gb hdd western digital caviar sata windows vista ultimate i get 30-40 mb/sec file transfer speed is it normal or can i get more |

You can certainly get more speed with a different CPU, preferably a dual-core.
But for the record, 30-40MBPS isn't bad and it's not worth the upgrade for this issue. I get 45-55 with my Pentium D processor and Seagate SATA drive. Your specs are considerably good but if your looking to squeeze out some more speed check out your hard drive's write speed and also if it has a SATA 3.0Gb/s interface. If they're low you can get a newer HDD. |

The last Norton i tried was 2004 and it was horrible. Didn't block anything. I've had AVG ever since and its amazing.
I'd like to give Norton a try one of these days... |
