I think it'd be a good idea to stick with kaspersky. They have one of the best virus detection rates and seems to be a decent product overall. What errors are you having with it? If its missing files or something, you could always just reinstall the application.

AVG all the way, man - only once it identified Doom3.exe as a virus, but I don't like that game so much anyways . I've had it with all those Nortons, McAffees and stuff... no way would I give them money.

asking "which is the best AV" is like asking someone "what is your favorite color" but, different peoples opinion differ, when i used XP i preferred Avast

BTW: Avast is also free similar to AVG but to continue to receive updates you need to reregister about every 14 months

AVG 2008 is the latest version...and it searches for adware as well as viruses.
This new version is the best free program the web has to offer. Avast which I had before this new version does not even come close.

It detected a whole page full of junk that infected Internet explorer and not one item infecting Mozilla firefox.

And this was on a new install.....

I would have to say, AntiVIR 8, It is real lite on resources. I was using AVG 8 until I saw the resources it uses.. AVG is good,But it is getting closer to
Bloatware like Norton.
