Default will a E6850 FSB 1333 run on a GIGABYTE 915P FSB 1066 board?

the thread title says it all , but i am building this pc for a friend now and this is the hardware he has supplied me with.

So i would very much like to know before i romove any factory seals if it will work, if the cpu will just run at a lower clock?

Please respond asap thanks ^^

My Computer

I don't believe the 915/925X line supports Core 2's, so I'm gonna say no.

The P965/975X series were designed for launch with 1066MHz FSB chips, and if you were lucky, might do 1333. However, for best results, an nForce 650i or 680 or Intel P35/X38--based motherboard is what you'd want to look into.
