Default Woman sat dead in front of TV for 42 years

Today I read a news about Woman sat dead in front of TV for 42 years...

It is just plain creepy.
But a few questions...How the hell does someone go missing and no one checks WHERE THEY LIVE?
How did no one like check on her if she wasn't making rent?
How did the tea still stay? Wouldn't it evaporate?

The article sounds suspicious. I mean 42 years is a long time. Surely someone would have noticed the unkempt 42 year old garden or something.

I remember there were japanese soldiers found a couple of years ago in a jungle somwhere still guarding their posts since world war 2! They must have been in their 80's or even 90's!

Here is a news article from google....

???? lol, um, it sounded more like they were deserters more than lost. They just happen to run into some one.

***exasperation*** ... how ridiculous of them and that Lieutenant Hiroo Onoda guy (mentioned at the end of the article).

Oh, and I did find a second source for that woman story from google news... although it was odd that there was only 1 result.

Also, to answer your question, I'm sure there was no rent to be payed. In Europe, most people own apartments like Americans own houses. Yet, they are still referred to as apartments. There's no such understanding as "townhouses" like we have here in USA. So she lived in an apartment which was entirely hers, and she didn't need to pay any rent.

And I guess she was just a really lonely old woman who didn't have relatives or many friends.

Also, it only said the cup was there, not the tea. I bet the tea did evaporate heh.
