This is good news, there has always been the possibility of harnessing the immense computational power of modern GPUs for folding. Vijay Pande said in a presentation that the GPU folding breakthrough would be a massive boost.

yeah to bad its only ATI GPU's, Most people i know use Nvidia, and Linux doesn't go so well with ATI, which is odd because the folding people all run Linux
