If I boot Mandriva 2007, I can only see a black-and white command line version where I can login. What command do I need to enter to return to the graphical user interface?

    Try -

    startx

Is this a normal occurrence? Did you configure Xorg when you installed Mandriva?

That was caused by a wrong setting in the screen resolution. However I always wanted to know how to reset the graphical user interface, as normally I always entered the command REBOOT. But thanks.

Yep, normally you should have a graphical interface by default, unless you have problems with your video card drivers or screen resolution.
