OK, I'm not particularly good with the technical side of commputers so I need your guys help. 2 days ago I had to reinstall windows on the advice of a technical support person after I had a severe problems. Since then everything is fine except for one thing. The sound. My speakers are correctly connected. Volume is turned up. I've checked all the basic stuff. Yet I have no sound. When I go to the 'Sounds and Audio Devices' option in the control panel it says 'No Audio Device'. I have no idea how I'm supposed to get the sound back and the speakers to be recognised by the computer. It's nothing particularly urgent, just something that is bugging me. On the original invoice for my computer it says - Sound Card: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Manufactuer - Analog Devices, Inc. Speakers: Creative Sound Blaster SBS260 Speakers I hope that is of some help to you all. Any help is appreciated greatly. ~Liam
It depends on where you bought the computer or the motherboard, links for each one can be found here SoundMAX Digital Audio System : Getting Technical Support and Answers to Driver Questions or the driver here SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio Driver v 5.12.01.4070 Rev. A - TechSpot Drivers
Apparently my motherboard is a "ASUSTeK Computer Inc K8VSEDX". I'm not sure exactly what I have to download. Sorry If this is a pain but I don't really want to download something I don't need and end up messing things up. I'm easily confused.:stars:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. your motherboard is at the bottom, click download, select drives, download sound drivers, then install
Sorry to bug you guys but I thought it would be the second one down I need to download? Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm like the most untechnologically minded person ever.
Um, I downloaded it to my desktop, but when I go to run the setup it comes up with a message which says: "The Audio Driver Files Do Not Support Your Hardware" I may have just downloaded the wrong thing being a fool and everything. Any ideas? ~Liam
download CPU-Z after you run it go to the motherboard tab and take a screenshot then post it here, or just copy the text. That should tell us the exact motherboard model you have!
