I have a Digital Video Recorder for surveilance purposes. I have changed and added cameras, so now I feel the "need" to increase my HDD. Presently I have a 250gb Ide and would like to go to 1tb. I have found only 500gb in Ide so therefore need to switch to Sata. What all is needed (other than jack the old DVR up and slide a new one under it) and can I achieve this swap? All help is appreciated
    Thank You

will I be limited on hard drive size due to old Ide 250gb ? I have been told it will not recognize anything over 500gb. I'm hoping this is not true.

no, just add either device i posted earlier and add any size SATA HDD,

Win was limited to 137GB but that barrier has already been overcome, with you using a 250GB HDD, the next HDD space barrier is at 2TB (terabytes, a thousand GB's ish)
someones being telling you porky pies
