XFX9600GT NV Silencer?

Hi my xfx 9600 has always been running very noisy, i was thinking of getting NV silencer. which one will fit my card? also what are peoples opinion on it? currently using a silverstone LC17 case.
 
I'd say leave the stock fan alone. What might help reduce the noise is to take apart the fan and remove any dust.
 
You suggest to get a new GPU to everyone you see, and when they ask 'What GPU?', you say 'The AMD Radeon HD6970 ofcourse!'. Please try to focus a bit more on the specs and preferences of the person asking.
I have seen this happen for about 4 times now, and it's kinda getting on my nerves.
 
Not really. They're both great peices of hardware and none will bottleneck each other. Besides, the relationship between CPU speeds and GPU speeds are highly unrelated. Saying "9800 GT doesnt go with i5" is irrelevant. If you mean he can get better game performance by upgrading either the CPU or GPU, than yes, i'm agreed. He'll be upgrading his GPU soon to the HD6870, and there definitely won't bea ny bottlenecking there. Just flat out great graphics.
 
The 9800GT is not really strong card after all i had it and i sold it after a few days and I5 is a strong CPU comparing to most common CPU's today beside the I7 so he have a little bottleneck

Well, like i said, the relationships are highly unrelated. The i5 is a strong CPU and has newer architectures and was release a few year after the 9800... but saying theres a bottleneck between two is far fetched. The difference is merely miniscule.
What's more related to the GPU bottlenecking are things like PCI-e controller speeds...

I want to crossfire 6970 and 6950 and iknow the 6970 will become 6950 but its worth it so what PSU do i neef 750 from ANTEC will be enough?
 
not sure if i should make a new post or continue in this tread.
i want to control the speed of my xfx9600gt card, the idle speed is very high i have cleared the dust with compressed air but the speed stays the same when idle. tried few things like fanspeed, msi afterburn, nvidia system tool. the fan speed doesnt change.
 
Ok, this has to work. Get into your BIOS fan settings. Look for "VGA" and adjust the speed so that it is fixed. Set it to 65%.
 
Don't use a 3rd party app for the job. What i meant was to configure it via BIOS. Try it through there.
 
YEs i meant when i went to bios setup there is No VGA option in my hardware monitoring tab, i only see fan adjustments for chassis, cpu, q-fan control etc.
