Well, just over a week since I installed Mandriva, and I must say, I'm really enjoying the experience. Hitherto, I had only used Windows as an operating system. I'm really glad I decided to try out a Linux distro. Thanks to all that helped to get me up and running, and well done to AT for the excellent Mandriva guide http://www.hardwareforums.com/getting-most-mandriva-8119/ It really was invaluable to me in getting started with Mandriva 2006. I would highly recommend it to any newbie wanting to try out the distro.
Hey David, I recommend you install [google]QtCurve[/google] style from the KDElook website. You need to extract it, change to the directory and do Code: ./configure make (as root user)make install It really jazzes up the menu, makes them bigger but also cleaner at the same time. I have a the default dark blue one with white menu backgrounds. High contrast but looks great.
One other note, once you've done make install you need to go to system>configuration>kde>looknfeel>styles to change it to the new QtCurve style. You can also change qtcurve and customise it.
