diffrent in cpu sockets if the cpu is a cip type, then its socket 370 otherwise slot1. it shud be a 370 and i think although u can put a different cpu in, ur mobo may still limit u to how fast a pcu can be inserted, due to fsb diferentiations
diffrent in cpu sockets It should say on the beige plastic where the cpu sits which fitting it is. It will probably be a 370 though, ive got a 450 celeron and a 633 celeron which are both 370. Its a bit of a shame actually, I made a spreadsheet of the specs of every processor made between 71-97 but haven't done the celerons, pentium 3 etc yet. It would have been usefull here!
diffrent in cpu sockets ay wikipeida they have alot about it they show what cpu work wiuth what slots but im just cjecking here im gonna open the computer up and try to rip the cooler off again
diffrent in cpu sockets Okay, does the CPU connector look more like a long slot and colored brown? For the motherboard model, look between the PCI slots. It should be listed right after the Asus logo. Knowing this is important as it can help determine what CPU upgrade limits you have.
diffrent in cpu sockets ok i got a screw driver out and slamed it in the cooler till it poped out and i couldnt find anything saying what slot it is but it was long a brown not the normal square one is it possible that that wasnt the cpu
diffrent in cpu sockets Your CPU is in a Slot 1 layout. They're available up to 1GHz, but wether or not you can put a 1GHz chip in it is going to depend on the motherboard.
ok i posted b4 on a difrent topic what my mobo is i just got to search for it ok i found it its a asus as97127f what diffrent cpus could i use i would like to use a p-3 it has win98 if thats important
That number is a chip on the motherboard. Look for some writing between the expansion slots on the motherboard itself, not any chips on it.
