I'm not sure if it's underclocked...

    Hey all,

I was cleaning up a family friends PC a week or so ago, and being a geek, I pulled up CPUz to check the chip, ram and MoBo. It reported as an ECS K7SOM+ with an Athlon XP @ 1150MHz paired with 512MB RAM. I thought to myself that the cpu speed didn't look right; and so checked here for what cpu it could be. I looked and found the slowest XP on there was a 1500+ at 1.33GHz, and so look for a multiplier of 11.5 as this was reported by CPUz. This came to be an 1800, but I worked out the fsb would need to be 133, not the 100 that was shown in CPUz. So, my Q is, is the chip underclocked by the MoBo? If so, is it a jumper on the board or in the BIOS? I looked at the manual and board page on the ECS site, but couldn't find info for it. Or is there indeed an Athlon that runs at 1150MHz, with an fsb of 100 and a multi of 11.5?

    Cheers,

    Karl :)
