    What is on Drive G?

Is it a separate hard drive or partition?

no, its a phantom drive that doesn't physically exist

i remember having this problem, What OS ?, if XP i can't remember if closing explorer & rebooting fixed it of if i reinstalled XP over itself then reinstall all drivers and most programs, let me have a think

and where in the world are you ? (country)

Edit: does this phantom drive look like a HDD or a CD/DVD ?

Edit: have you recently uninstalled VirtualCD or something like that ?

Drive G could be a virtual disk drive, from using tools like Daemon Tools, or Alcohol etc. Or, it could be that there is a device connected which has some form of mass storage on it.

Very amusing but please do not hijack other people's thread. The occasional off-topic remark is OK, but keep it reasonable :) [/ot]
