Poor quality printing in Mandriva.

    I have an old Cannon Bubble Jet 250 printer. The printout quality even on the highest quality setting is rather poor. Does anyone know of a good source for downloading printer drivers for Linux? I have a driver CD for the printer but it's only for Windows.

    The printer quality via that 'other' operating system is quiet good, but I'm trying to move away from that system full-time. Alternatively, could you recommend a printer that works well under Linux, in general?
