Hiya everyone im pretty new to this so bare with me, my problem is ive just started suffering alot of blue screen errors, im using winxp sp2 and each blue screen has a different error like win32.sys, bad pool header etc, i can be playing games or on the net and it will suddenly crash so im trying to find out the best and quickest way of checkng my memory out, ive tried memtest but it says it will take at least 9 hrs to complete, does anybode know of sum other way of testing it thanks. Phil
with the info you've provided, it could be faulty RAM could you please post your full specs, the problem could also be XP (thank you microsoft:angry: ) BTW: if you have more than 1 stick of RAM, just run memtest on 1 stick at a time
I only stop memtest86 from running more than 12 hours when its clear that the RAM is faulty (a few hundred errors), otherwise you should leave it for longer.
yeah - but be careful of static damage - use an anti static strap, or touch an exposed metal part of your systems case every minute of so  sorry
Hi guys well ive took 1 stick of mem out about 30 mins ago and no blue screens at all so i dunno if ive solved it but ill wait and see,, anyway ive got my first little forum thing that i built thru another sight so if anyone wants to have a look then its LetsplayGames :: Index and please register if poss guys. Thanks alot for your help so far Phil
well it looks as though you've solved it inadvertantly, well done  BTW: just monitor your system, you could have removed the possibly faulty RAM, but i would trust memtest more, to verify faulty RAM
Hi my first ever forum is LetsplayGames :: Index and its on a load of topics from music thru to computers and loads more sadly its made partly thru another website but come and have a look guys and if poss register Cheers again
