I've now reinstalled all drivers which hasn't solved the problem and I've checked my old 17" LCD which also works fine but still no joy :( . Stoopid monitors :x: I have no idea what it could be and the manufacturer and retailer are no help either.

Yeah, the monitor drivers I've installed and re-installed though the most recent time I tried it they seemed to be still installed instead of the microsoft general plug and play. The Catalyst Control Drive is the latest version so I havent tried re-installing that.
