    Hey guys,

with the left over money I get this christmas (merry christmas to all you guys btw :D ) im looking to get some PC Headphones. Mid range, high quality headphones with a budget of < £80.

These will be used for music & gaming quite often. I have already done some googling, and found these Sennheiser HD 555's, they seem to be a good size and also look the part, advice?

I'm looking for wired or wireless headphones (or does wireless effect the output?).

    That's all, thanks in advance

    Merry christmas!

Sennheisers really are good. I got some cheap Sennheiser HD202's (<£20) and the sound is much richer than any others I've used. Buy a better one if you have the extra money.

Right I've just received these Sennheiser HD 555's and they are fantastic, high sound quality :D

One question, I currently have the phones plugged into my stereo system, which is plugged into my 7.1 onboard sound card. Is it best to separately plug these headphones into the onboard sound? If so which socket, I dont have a clue lol

    Thanks

Let me get this straight you've got:

    Headphones------Stereo------Computer

And you're wondering whether to just have:

    Headphones------Computer

It doesn't really matter I guess, although if you want to plug them into the computer directly then just plug them into the main output of the soundcard (it's usually green coloured, it's the one that outputs the sound for the front left and right speakers)

Yea, I was thinking it would be using the amp in the stereo and that would effect output I get through the phones. I was also hoping I could use the rear speaker output for the speakers and the phones output for the phones and have the same sound coming out both, but then found out it would kill the sound? and my onboard doesn't seem to have a line out, only line in

    Anyway thanks for that matt.
