Hey, i need to upgrade, my computer really has gone down the drain the past errmmmm, day.., Tom Clancys Rainbow Six Vegas wont work on my good ol X800XT PE, this is due to the assholes at ubisoft making it SM3.0 REQUIRED, hell even my CPU @ 2.8ghz aint good enough for reccommended, but thats just stupid, course it is lol. Anyway, i am selling my X-Fi Fatal1ty for around £140, and then AOL are sending me a free router thats worth around 70 quid, so thats £210, on this small £250 budget, if need a Motherboard and a Graphics card. I may be able to get a Motherboard that should suffice for £20 off someone, but still would like reccommendations. 1: Motherboard And GPU for £250 2: GPU For £250 As seen above, what GPU is the best i should get for £250 (PCI-E), and also Motherboard + GPU for £250 ***EDIT*** Please look at Nvidia cards, ATi seems really REALLY bad at the moment, especially since i want to move to linux eventually.
I looked in you drop-down spec list, I'm guessing your using the AMD, but youve also written C2D in the CPU area as well. So what CPU are you going to be fitting on this motherboard... If youre planning on upgrading too Intel, which my pursumptions lead me, I would suggest this. Motherboard + GPU for £250 = DFI Infinity 975X (£96.34) Leadtek GeForce 7950 GT 256MB (£160.96) (^ a few £ over budget.) GPU for £250 = GeForce 7950 GT 512MB (£217.36) Or you could spend £40 more and get the 8800GTS...
Look at the specs in my signature, its the most up to date, thats my current rig, i was concidering C2D, but i think i am going to wait it out and see what AMD had, £290 for an 8800GTS??? woah man, thats preety cheap, were abouts is this, i think i will get one of those! **Edit~~ Is it really worth the money for the 8800GTS, i mean the 7900GTX beats it in one benchmark, what do you think, if at least 3 people think its worth it then i think i'll sell my X-Fi Fatal1ty, router and go buy that. geforce 8800gtx and 8800gts review benchmark and performance test Oh also, i am planning on using my current PSU for this card, i am hoping it will be good enough, also the GTS dont require 2 PCI-E connectors dont it? because i have the older type of the Type-r which aint SLi ready, so its only got one PCI-E connector. I see a trend: Last year, august 2005, i was like, omg, i cant even play any games, this radeon 9600 suks, then i got the X800XT PE, and i was like, WOW, this is like the worlds fastest GPU, blows me away man, now i am like, this X800XT PE is rubbish, i cant even play games due to it been not supported, so am i going to me like that at this time next year and be like, this 8800GTS is rubbish!, it wont play any games at decent settings? I am hoping it will play UT2K7 at 100% Maximum.
8800 GTS Unfortunalty thats just technology, I'm not a huge gamer myself, I play Battlefield 2 and thats about it.
I aint a huge gamer myself, but its because i wont play a game as long as i have it on maximum graphics, i dont like games that suk in the graphics department. Yea i am gonna get the one form overclockers, thats if its worth it, i have posted on nvnews.net, full of Nvidia fanboys i rekon, hopefully they will convince me i think iw ill start a war there lol, i put that i rekon ATI R600 will beat the 8800GTX.
