I'm interested in purchasing the SAPPHIRE RADEON 9600 PRO 128MB graphics card and I found out that it's an AGP 8X card, and my motherboard, intel 845, is an AGP 4X. I was wondering if the card would work with my current motherboard or if I should look at another graphics card. If someone could help me on this, that would be great.

Yup. AGP 8x is backwards compatible with AGP 4x.

Yes but many boards nowadays only work in 4x or 8x. Putting an agp2x card in one of these boards might damage the card and/or the board.
