Ok i have been trying to do this for a while now.. i recently had a card problem which rendered my OS on my what was primary Hard Drive corrupt and caused it to loop when booting off it. I went and bought at 320gb Seagate and wanted to recover the data off that hard drive. Both hard drives are running Windows and the NTFS file system. The 2nd drive does not appear under Hard drives in My Computer but is functioning properly in Computer Manager and it will not let me access it though Disk manager. I have tryd windows recovery Console and that did not help. I have a lot of valuable stuff on that hard drive and i was wondering if anyone could help me? If you need any more details just ask. Thanks
Check to see if there's an option to set the partition in Disk Manager as active and see if that works (Right click in white/blue area to right of HDD in list at bottom of Disk Managemet window)... With your fresh installation of Windows, it won't have any knowledge of the corrupt drive ever existing and the drive may need to be set as an active one. If you right click the white/blue area to the right of the drive in question in the bottom part of the Disk Management window, does it give you the option to create a partition? If this is the case then it may HAVE to be re-partitioned and formatted for it to appear in My Computer correctly. Check to see if there's an option to set the partition as active and see if that works... Good luck, Mike
Make sure that jumpers are corrected properly... For Master drive, set the jumper on 1. You set master drive where u've installed ur windows. 4321 [:::I] To set slave u put the jumpers on 2. 4321 [::I:]
