I have been asked to upgrade a friends rig and this is what i came up with.

    Chaintech 7950GT 512MB
Biostar TForce 965PT socket 775 motherboard
    Intel Core2 Duo E6300
    OCZ DDR2 PC2-5400 Gold Dual Channel 1GB
    Antec Basiq BP500U 500w PSU
    Arctic Silver Thermal Paste

Its obviously for gaming and i just wanted to run it by you guys. The PSU i know is a bit on the skimpy side but its all about bang for buck for this one

    Try this for your PSU...
    eXtreme Power Supply Calculator v2.0

If its a gaming rig id maybe try and get faster ram and leave it open for an easy upgrade to 2gb. I cant find a spec on the motherboard to be honest so I cant really look over it.

Just out of interest what does it come to cost wise? I used to know a few south africans and they were quizzing me on my bike gear because they said it was cheaper here than in SA. I payed a bloody fortune too compared to internet prices... like £250 for £100 boots, £200 for a £70 helmet etc!

well it'll come to about 8000 with delivery. And yes, EVERYTHING is sooo much more expensive here because the exchange rate is so high. Its like 12rands to each pound sterling. Its good to see someone knows South Africans :)

Do you know that Ubuntu comes from a South African language called Zulu and it means "the spirit of community" or something simmilar.
